On Set: Mic Chen’s Music Video Shoot

Yesterday was a mini-dream-come-true for me – I got to direct and film a music video for a friend of mine.

Michael Chen’s taking his music interest forward so we spoke of doing a music video for him.

After 5 hrs of shooting we are halfway!

That’s mainly due to lighting which is a science and art I’m still learning to master.

Film: The Exchange (Trailer)

This is the trailer to my first movie.

I haven’t posted the full movie yet and the reason is: when I filmed this it was supposed to be a silly movie but when I made the trailer I kinda made it look better than it really is.

I’ve since went back to the drawing board to make it a proper film. I’m hoping to have it out by September.

The story behind it:
I had just built my camera dolly and wanted to test it so I called up a few of my friends and we met in a park and started filming! Well, I had the idea for the film but not lines, storyboard, characters, etc.

Stop Motion Animation - Inception

A second attempt at stop motion animation.

I used kids clay that I bought for R14 (approx $2) for a packet of 7 colours. This  took 396 pictures and 1.5 hours to complete…I’m thinking of creating a little web series for this dude…hmmm.

Documentary: Phil & The Berimbau

This is a short with Phil Mkorongo talking about his love for the Capoeira as he plays the Berimbau.

I love his dedication to his passion. Almost every time I see him he’s talking about Capoeira or watching Capoeira videos.

Berimbau Berimbau 2

I hope to go watch him play Capoeira with his buddies soon.
